The four-storey building under construction collapsed in the early hours of Monday in the Gwarinpa District of Abuja.
Six people have been rescued from the rubbles and two others are still trapped.

The Acting Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Mrs Safiyat Umar, explained that the building was standing on a flood plain which caused the collapse.
