Wimbledon has witnessed something not seen in 20 years after a brilliant day for the British contingent competing in SW19.
Heather Watson, Aljaz Bedene, Johanna Konta and Andy Murray all won their contests on Wednesday to advance to the third round.
Watson overcame 18th seed Anastasija Sevastova, Konta was involved in a three-set epic on Centre Court against Donna Vekic, Bedene beat Damir Dzhumhur and Murray dispatched Dustin Brown.

Watson was brilliant
The last time there were four Britons at that stage of the tournament was 1997.
Meanwhile it’s the first time since 1986 there have been two British women in the third round.
It was the era of Tiger Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski while riding high in the charts was I’ll Be Missing You by Puff Daddy.
Alongside the standout British tennis stars of the day were wildcards Andrew Richardson and Mark Petchy.

Henman and Rusedski went on to reach the quarter-finals that year but that was as far as they got – losing to Michael Stich and Cedric Pioline respectively.
Things could get even better for British tennis tomorrow with Kyle Edmund in action. He takes on France’s Gael Monfils.
